had to get a mouth guard for boxing this past weekend and melted it down this morning. think i might have to do it again cuz it feels a little weird, but itll be ok. im excited about using it though because that means imma get to hit someone! course that means someones gunna be hitting me too, but hopefully i can keep that from happening too much :)

after a week off for my cleaning marathon, im back to boxing...these are my new sparing gloves! now i have bag gloves and sparing gloves...the bag gloves have weights in the wrists so they're heavier for training.

Today is James' birthday :) it turned out to be a pretty crappy birthday because he was at work till way way late, but he did get strawberry cake out of it :) we got candles for the cake too, but he wasnt in much of a mood for candles...maybe next year :)

this week is going to be a marathon cleaning week for me. i have bunko at my house thursday and wow does it need to be cleaned before then!!!! my aunt jane vacuumed my apt for me because for some strange reason she says she likes to vacuum...weird... :)

we went into peir 1 today on the way home from a venture to target and discovered a lot of new and fun stuff. james found this cup and got it for me! :) :) :) :) there were plates and little bowls that matched too!

some friends of ours invited us to go to the zoo this afternoon. we had a great time wondering around and we walked for 3+ hours straight! today was the first weekend we've had decent weather so everyone was out and about and it felt fantastic!!!!

i got this coffee while i was in new orleans. community coffee doesnt come in too many flavors up here in memphis, so i got some while i could. i use the flavored coffee on fridays (when i think about it) for something different/special.

i got a camelbak from woot a few weeks ago and im looking forward to trying it out during marathon training. hopefully its not too heavy or inconvenient to run with.

this is the view from our room in new orleans. we really lucked out on the hotel. i picked the hotel before they posted the race route, so i wasnt sure how close or far it would be. turned out to be 3 blocks from mile 8 on the half marathon route which was fantastic! mom and aunt jane valet parked their car at the hotel and walked with james to the course to see me run. we all had an adventure on the shuttle from the finish line, but all in all not too bad!

its not coffee call, but not a bad way to spend a night in new orleans! we went to cafe du monde saturday night while we were walking around. i had a great time just seeing the sites.
too bad we had to come back to memphis today.
