its all about the bling!

everyone knows its all about the bling! the mardi gras half marathon was today in new orleans. it was a nice flat course, sucky water station and toilet support though! and i was so excited to have mom, aunt jane and james there at mile 8 for support! itll be fun to run it again next year! i cant seem to finish a half in under 2:30, but at least im finishing! imma have to add some serious speed work this summer during marathon training.

dad has made me pancakes before my st jude races, so we decided to try something different this weekend. mom made me WAFFLES! i love momma's waffles too. they were great before the race with peanut butter on them! thanks ma!

the picture is a little fuzzy because i took it myself and couldnt make camera focus that close to my forehead. but anyway, its my ashes for ash wednesday, first day of lent...gave up sweets and im going to try to cut down on my cussing...we'll see how well it goes

PANCAKE DAY!!!!

as someone who is used to celebrating mardi gras, i had NO idea that today was also pancake day for most of the rest of the world, lol :) so james and i went to ihop tonight to have pancakes as a pre-lent splurge! :) we both have a thing for pancakes!

oh, and ignore the date on the bottom of the picture...my camera has been doing weird things lately :(

james made dinner for us before we went to the movies to see the Valentine's day movie. we ended up not being able to see the movie at the time we were supposed to, so we went downtown to get cheesecake :) fabulous meal, fantastic cheesecake, cute movie, and wonderful company for the day! oh, and i got a turtle pandora, new shoes and cant forget gum! he knows me sooo well, lol :)

while memphis isnt hell, it is definitely frozen over! :) the saints win the super bowl and it snows the next day...coincidence, maybe or maybe now :) regarless, we got the day off because of it so woowoo!

locomotive in the livingroom

this pic wasnt taken today, but i wanted to add it as a pic today because i was so happy to get to see the setup yesterday. one of james' loves in life is trains. he owns a gazillion train related items. yesterday evening he setup a track in his livingroom and ran some of his locomotives. it was pretty neat! :)

since james and i were off today, so we went to visit my cuz at her job for lunch :) it was fun :) this is a courtyard outside her office building. both of us thought it was a beautiful spot covered in snow still.
